This movie is about a common theme in teen films. It is the end of high school and a nerd decides to tell the popular girl he loves that he loves her. He is the valedictorian and decides to do so in his commencement speech where he also decides to tell it like it is, insulting a few other students along the way.

She is both embarassed and flattered and accepts his invitation to go to his house for a graduation party. She and two friends show

at his party, but chaos ensues.

Beth Cooper’s boyfriend shows and destroys the nerd’s house leading them all to run. They end at another party, but the boyfriend follows and starts to beat up the nerd.

Then the nerd’s former bully who he reached while trying to insult him during his speech sticks up for him and they flee. Our hero the nerd, his best friend who may or may not be gay, the two side kicks of beth and beth all go through a series ...

      • of fighting and ditching the Jock/Military boyfriend and his friends and end up at one of the kid’s parent’s lake house where the maybe gay kid improbably hooks up with the two sidekicks and the nerd gets a kiss with beth.

In the end his courage has won her over and beth gives a chance. So what do I think about the film.

Baloney, the whole thing is baloney. I’ve seen this in a million other teen films.

The geek hero gets the girl instead

of the much more handsome but jerk of a popular boy. He wins her with his sincerity and intelligence.

I’ve only lived through high school once but I am not an idiot, this would never happen. The acting was good, Beth was played over the top but the whole cast was fine.

This movie has been made under different names a million times, but for a genre move it is fine. If you like teen movies and do not care about originality or believability you will enjoy this one.
