DNAngel episode 1 begins with a fight inside a building between two angelic beings, Dark and Krad. It flashes back to sometime earlier where two people, a grandfather and a mother, awaken the powers of Dark Mousy inside of Daisuke Niwa, who has an interesting family curse.

I bought this on DVD and I have to say that the show is very well done, the characters are interesting and the setting is unique and

it’s a pretty fun shojo anime, even though I don’t watch a lot of shojo anime, I like this one a lot.

The action and animation are pretty good, and the English dub is good with Kevin Corn as Daisuke Niwa, Hilary Haag as Riku Hirada and Luci Christian as Risa Hirada, along with Vic Mignogna as Dark Mousy. I can see why Kevin Corn’s voice might get on some people’s nerves as he ...

      • seems kind of whiny. Greg Ayres is a great voice actor and he is very good as Satoshi Hiwatari. I liked his performance a lot.

The music is nice, but pretty generic, still it does sound really nice during the non action scenes and I did enjoy it, but it’s really repetitive over the episodes after you watch them and the music is reused during the episodes.

I highly recommend DNAngel to shojo

anime fans, but you might want to borrow it on Netflix to see it first before deciding if you want it in your DVD collection, it’s a fun one to watch with an interesting curse and a phantom thief, you’ll definitely enjoy DNAngel if you’re into shojo anime. This was a pleasant surprise and you’ll enjoy it a lot.

DNAngel is available on DVD from Section23. You can buy it from Amazon.com or RightStuf.com.
