  • I feel that even though I paid a significantly reduced price for it last January that the quality of the stocking holder still wasn't quite worth what I paid for it, which was nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents
  • If given the option to go back, I don't think I would buy this stocking holder again
  • My biggest problem with this stocking holder relates to the candles
  • I like the idea of not having a power cord to hide or worry about me or someone else tripping over and I like the convenience of being able to put these stocking holders anywhere I want rather than have to worry about a power outlet being nearby, but eight AA batteries which yields very little light that flickers unnaturally rather than naturally is ridiculousness
  • The gold-colored letters and gold-colored stands look nice, but unfortunately the effect is ruined by the cheap-looking candles

The GKI Bethlehem Lighting NOEL 4-Piece Lighted Brass Christmas Stocking Holder Set With Candle Lamps is not my favorite stocking holder of all time. I feel that even though I paid a significantly reduced price for it last January that the quality of the stocking holder still wasn’t quite worth what I paid for it, which was nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents. I recall the regular price being over forty dollars, although I see that this year, it’s selling for less than what I paid after Christmas when all Christmas items were given heavily discounted prices. If given the option to go back, I don’t think I would buy this stocking holder again.

My biggest problem with this stocking holder relates to the candles. The candles look ridiculously cheap. They don’t at all pass for natural-looking. This gives the stocking holder a degree of “cheapness” that takes

away from its attractiveness. Another problem that I have with the candles pertains to the bulbs. The bulbs attempt to “simulate” burning flames, like the flames that burn on real candles, so they don’t stay consistently lit. However, the bulbs fail to give off a glow and appearance that’s comparable to that of a lit candle and actually give off very little light period. Each candle requires two AA batteries, yet with two AA batteries, the amount of light that shines from the bulbs is pitifully underwhelming. Plus, to light all four stocking holders, I need to use a total of eight AA batteries! Ouch! I like the idea of not having a power cord to hide or worry about me or someone else tripping over and I like the convenience of being able to put these stocking holders anywhere I want rather than have to ...

      • worry about a power outlet being nearby, but eight AA batteries which yields very little light that flickers unnaturally rather than naturally is ridiculousness.

The reason I initially found this stocking holder to be appealing was because each of the four candles has a large, gold-colored letter that sits on the stand gold-colored stand in front of each candle. There are four letters to go with the four candles that spell out NOEL. The gold-colored letters and gold-colored stands look nice, but unfortunately the effect is ruined by the cheap-looking candles. Had the candles featured a more realistic exterior and had the candles given off a more natural flickering effect, then this stocking holder would have been very nice. Under each letter is a hook that can hold a stocking that weighs up to two pounds. The stocking holder sits without a problem as there’s ample

        space underneath the gold-colored surfaces.

The GKI Bethlehem Lighting NOEL 4-Piece Lighted Brass Christmas Stocking Holder Set With Candle Lamps is a stocking holder that I probably won’t ever use again. The unnatural look and dimness of the candles really hurts the attractiveness of the set. The gold colored letters and surfaces were indeed nice and as a stocking holder, it was stable, but the flickering effect behind the letters just doesn’t look all that spectacular or natural. I would much rather put up the other stocking holders that I own, like the GKI Bethlehem Lighting Lighted Acrylic Snowman Christmas Stocking Holder, because they’re more attractive to look at. I feel that a “4″ rating is appropriate for this stocking holder, with the ridiculous number of batteries being required, the unrealistic candle design and the equally unnatural and dull flickering effect all contributing to my negative feelings toward this stocking holder.
