  • In the early stages of the X-Factor you can see that the poor acts really annoy him, but I think he fears that one day the live finals will be full of acts simply not good enough

I can only imagine what this man was like when he was younger, but Simon Cowell just seems to have a licence to print money. It doesn’t matter what he does, the nation, even America seem enthralled by it and once again it makes him millions.

When he first burst onto our screens as a judge on Pop Idol he took on the mantle of the nasty one. Nasty Nigel had been at the forefront of the Popstars t.v show and Simon Cowell either had a nasty personality or he knew this was the gap to fill

to get noticed and to be fair it worked.

Having worked with artists such as Zig and Zag and Robson and Jerome it was clear that Cowell was about money. If the talent could make money then great, if not, a novelty artist would instead be fine. Having made his name on Pop Idol though he brought both the X-Factor and Britains Got Talent to the U.K and America.

What I failed to understand about this success was that X-Factor was pretty much Pop Idol and Britains Got Talent was fine for a one off idea, but how ...

      • its become so successful I will never know.

These shows keeping making him money though. This guy is not so much a talent spotter, he is a businessman. If he doesn’t think the talent will sell, then he won’t even try and sell it, he is cut throat in this way.

I do see him mellowing though. In the early stages of the X-Factor you can see that the poor acts really annoy him, but I think he fears that one day the live finals will be full of acts simply not good enough. Once at the live

shows, he wants to win, but as long as the show itself is getting the viewing figures, then he knows that the show has been a success again.

It does show the ambition of the man though, he always wants more. I don’t see this as greed because with Cowell I think its about power and to be fair when he talks, many listen. I think right now his greatest fear is not being at the top of his game and whilst he is here, the money will keep rolling in, whether he needs it or not.
