I’ve been to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last 2008. I was given a chance to visit their country for work in a hospital.

Riyadh is the place where the Royal family lives. It is the largest city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There’s a filipino town called “Al-Bat’ha”. You can find there filipino people you stay, shop and eat there. They also call that place,

mini Quiapo like in Manila, Philippines. You won’t feel homesick when you visit Al-Bat’ha because you just feel like you’re in the Philippines.

The people in Riyadh were Muslims and they believe to Allah. Muslims were religious and have a ritual prayer five times a day which called “salah” in their temple named Mecka.

There language is Arabic. I learned few words like: Assamalaykum – ...

      • Peace be with you Waalassalaykum a salam – Peace be upon you Halu – hello Kaif halik (for a girl you ask) – How are you?

Kaif halak (for a boy you ask) – How are you?

        Ana – I Quais – fine

In listening to their language will also encourage you to learn for you to understand and communicate with them as well.

        Araba (girl) wears “abaya”

every time they go outside their house. Arab (boy) wears “thob” when they’re out.

Arabic people have lots of rituals and beliefs that they really practice it in their country.

Foods and electronics were really affordable. You can almost eat delicious and imported foods everyday. That’s why I really want to shop there.

I recommend to try visit Riyadh to see desert and to enjoy shopping in affordable prices.
