I decided to hook up my house phone only a few months ago. I am used to the cell phone, all of the time, but found a really great deal on landline that I could not pass up. I did not have a phone at first and was using this really old school corded phone. It was driving me insane, and I decided it was time to purchase a cordless one. I was not looking to spend a lot of money and was searching for a very basic cordless phone. I went to a local Big Lots store and found a basic Uniden 2.4 Gigahertz Extended Range Cordless Phone with Caller ID. They had this phone available in both black and white, and I purchased the black, as it looked more

sleek and stylish. The phone itself comes with a very basic base to charge it on. This is cool, because it is small and discreet. I can put it in a corner somewhere and not worry about it becoming an eye sore. The other thing I like about the phone is that it itself is not too big or too long. It fits into my hands perfectly, though it is a little bulky around.

While this phone is cute and small, it has very bad quality. I cannot complain too much, because I only paid 13 dollars, but I want a phone that at least works decently. The first thing that I hate about this phone is the low volume. It can be difficult for me to hear people at times,

      • even with the phone turned up to the max. I have found myself trying to turn up the volume so many times, to find out that it is already at the maximum. I hate this and feel I could get better sound. To top that off, the phone does not have good signal at all. I doubt it works very well long range, because it does not even work well in the house. I can be talking on the phone for about 45 minutes or so and the phone will start to static. At first, it is always a light static, but then it escalates and becomes this really loud and annoying static. I have tried to have people hang up and call back and the static will still remain. I
really hate dealing with this. Then it is like the channel button does not work at all. I press it when it starts to static a lot and it does nothing at all.

I am going to continue using this phone for now, but definitely plan on buying a new one when Christmas comes. It is a pretty durable and strong phone, which is a good thing for people with kids. My son has knocked it over once or twice and it has not affected it at all. This phone is okay for people looking for an inexpensive cordless phone. I however, would not suggest it to anyone because the sound quality is not up to par. The quality was bad since the first day; I even exchanged the phone and had the same problems.
