“Edwina The Dinosaur Who Didn’t Know She Was Extinct” by Mo Willems is an enchanting tale that not only entertains but teaching children about friendship. The cartoons images are adorable and child-like and will make for a great story for your children to read.

This story is about a local Dinosaur named Edwina who helps the town by baking them cookies and being a friendly part of the neighborhood. One boy, Reginald, does not like Edwina

and tries to convince the town that dinosaurs are extinct. No one listen to him, and he repeats this various times throughout the story. He confronts Edwina about this and she doesn’t understand how she is extinct because she is there in front of him alive. He makes a compelling argument to her and she believes him that she is extinct but doesn’t care. Reginald doesn’t care either, he just wanted someone to listen to ...

      • him, and Edwina did.

The cartoons, as I have mentioned earlier, are part of why this book would be excellent for young readers. They would enjoy seeing all of the interesting characters, and each character is different which helps to promote diversity. This can also teach children that listening to friends can really mean a lot to them and help them to have better classroom and social etiquette when dealing with other’s and their feelings.
