  • I personally recommend the eight foot sheets if you are going to do the work your self, unless you are a large burly man with several buddies to help

When we bought our wood stove for my mom’s house we had not finished the walls yet so we decided to get dry wall. The standard dry wall was $9.

99 a sheet then we saw the fire rated gypsom dry wall

      that was 11.

      99.

We decided it was worth the extra two dollars for the additional safety that it was rated for fire protection.

It was item number 11737 at Lowes in Crossville Tennessee.

It never hurst to be extra cautious when ...

      • it comes top things that are going to be near a wood stove that might catch on fire.

The 5/8×8′-TF Gold Bond Grid Max National Gypsom was extra thick which made it heavy but it did not break as easily as

        the thinner stuff.

So it was easier to install on the wall and the ceiling.

I personally recommend the eight foot sheets if you are going to do the work your self, unless you are a large burly man with several buddies to help.
