  • I love it, but it's important to not be fooled by the name here
  • I am not about to suggest that the meat used inside the soup is the best or freshest mince, but lets just also remember that it is tinned soup and can only deliver so much though
  • It's like you have a nice chilli con carne sauce and in this you have some chunks of meat, some peppers, some potatoes even I think and kidney beans
  • One of the bargains of the store if you ask so you can comfortably stock up on a few without being out of pocket and I have seen some soups on the shelf next to it that in my opinion are vastly over priced

A soup that I discovered in Tesco a couple of years ago is a Tesco branded Chunky Chilli Soup. I love it, but it’s important to not be fooled by the name here. Chunky Chilli suggests that you are in for something hot and yet that could not really be further from the truth.

What you do get though is quite a nice soup version of a chilli con carne. I am not

      • con carne but have no time to make any or just fancy something light.

What I also sometimes to is to biol up a little bit of rice, chop up some onion and add this to the soup. This really really thickens it out and also helps it to resemble a chilli con carne even more. If I want to spice it up a little then I will add some of my own

chilli sauce as this is chunky chilli in terms of a nice chilli con carne and not something that is very hot.

It’s also priced quite well at about 42p. One of the bargains of the store if you ask so you can comfortably stock up on a few without being out of pocket and I have seen some soups on the shelf next to it that in my opinion are vastly over priced.
