      TRUSTWORTHY

      all reviews
This movie features a young boy named Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) who returns home from military school and finds his family with a new stepfather, David Harris (Dylan Walsh). Michael’s mother Susan (Sela Ward) has apparently found a new love and she wants a happy family once again, but as David and Michael grows to know each other, Michael has suspicions on his new stepfather and he digs deeper into his past as he’s always acting suspiciously nice and mysterious at times.

      David becomes aware

of his stepson’s curiosity and kind of threatens him by words and letting him know that he is being watched. Michael tries to convince his girlfriend Kelly (Amber Heard) into investigating deeper and to find some evidence that David is actually a serial killer who has a horrible past of killing his family but Kelly doesn’t believe Michael and she thinks Michael is only being so suspicious of someone nice.

In the end Michael convinces Kelly to look out for him while he’s searching for evidence ...

      • at the suspicious basement where David always hangs out, and just when he does have the ultimate evidence, David catches them and Susan (the mother) also catches David in the act of killing Kelly, so it’s a scary chase around the house for David, Kelly, and Michael. In the end they all try to kill David but when Michael awakens from a month-long coma at the hospital and when he learns that David has escaped, he just couldn’t believe it.

The story actually ends with David

preying on another single mother with 2 young kids and the story will just go on and on with David being a serial killer who will kill his family because of his horrible past and trauma.

The movie is suspenseful and I liked it. Dylan Walsh did a good job and I think Penn Badgley was convincing as well. There parts where the music is eerie so you’ll already know what to expect and it’s quite predictable, but it’s a fun suspense movie to watch.
