Twelve Nabisco Oreo Cakesters come in a box for two dollars and thirty-nine cents. They’re sold in a number of grocery stores, with some grocery stores carrying the original variety, namely this product, along with other varieties, such as a peanut butter cakester as well as a vanilla cakester. After trying this product though, I have absolutely zero interest in trying the other varieties that exist on the market. The Oreo Cakesters definitely don’t live up to the Oreo cookies, in my view.

Perhaps what I dislike the most

about these Oreo Cakesters is how dry the soft cake is. Instead of a crunchy cookie with creme in the middle, the Oreo Cakesters have two soft chocolate cakes with creme sandwiched in the middle. The cake portion of this snack item seems dry though. I was expecting the cake portion to be moist, but it wasn’t, and that seemed to affect the richness of the chocolate. The cakes, being dry rather than moist, seemed to thus have a weaker, less satisfying chocolaty taste than the fresh, crunchy ...

      • cookie portion of the Oreo cookies. The creme seemed just as sweet though and there was more of it naturally, since one Oreo Cakester is larger than one Oreo cookie. Even though it’s larger in size however, it doesn’t have a greater amount of flavor due to the lack of moistness when it comes to the chocolate cake portion of the Oreo Cakester.

The Nabisco Oreo Cakesters not only aren’t as good as the Oreo cookies, but also, far fewer come in a package and for about seventy

cents more, I can get many more Oreo cookies that also happen to taste better. Even if the chocolate cake portion of the Oreo Cakesters was more moist, I’m still not sure I would like them as much as the Oreo cookies. The Oreo Cakesters also seemed to be excessively spongy and simply didn’t taste as chocolaty as the Oreo cookies do. I feel that the Oreo Cakesters are inferior to the Oreo cookies and that’s why I’m rating them a “3″. The value is unimpressive as is the product.
