Torchlight is a adventure RPG game for the PC and mac. This game follows in the footsteps of Diablo, and is made by a co-creator of Diablo 1 and 2. The game takes place in a single town called Torchlight, the town is being attacked from a massive series of dungeons (where the combat in the game takes place) below the town where there is a mysterious substance called Amber The hack and slash element of this game is excellent and the random drops make the game very re-playable. There are three different character classes, all of which are completely different; there is the sorcerer class, the range

(archery/gun) and warrior/barbarian. This is a budget title ($20, but it is on sale most of the time) with over 15 hours of gameplay for just one playthrough. Dungeons are full of surprises and with a few different difficulty levels, this title will keep you entertained for quite awhile.

There is a very diverse amount of weapons from swords, maces, and axes for close quarter combat, there are bows, pistols, rifles, and shotguns for ranged attacks, and there are many spells and powers for magic attacks. The skill tree for every different class is different and the tree (a name for a chart of skills that are on abilities/feats ...

      • which points are spent on when you level up) is very complete; there is a new tier unlocked every 5 levels which includes new and more powerful skills. The skills are very useful especially on the harder difficulties.

I think this game is great. There is a save system on which you can save anywhere in the game. This makes it easy to pick up and go, which is great for when you don’t have very much time or you are just casually playing. The game even plays on notebooks, and older, slower computers! This is a great game and there is an option for playing without gore for

younger children, the game is normally full of bloody gore from all sorts of monstrous beasts. There is even a new level editor to create your own dungeons in the game. The graphics are absolutely wonderful with such low requirements. The dungeons are dark and dank, the monsters are imaginative and the sound effects that come along with the graphics are great. Swords clanking against shields, magic explosions, the game immerses you into the world!

The only troubles with this game is that I want more, it isn’t the longest game and I wish there were more character customization options. The game overall is great and I cannot wait for Torchlight 2.
