Pick ‘Em Up, Lay ‘Em Down by Toby Keith is the complete opposite of what we have been used to hearing from Toby Keith throughout his career. The song is about a man who doesn’t just go play around with whatever woman comes along and then forget about her. He is saying he has to be serious about a woman and that he prefers to wait even though it can be tempting at times. It is an awesome song and something that more women wished they would

      hear from a man.

Toby Keith did a complete turn around as far as his work is concerned as is obvious by this song. As always, his voice has a way of soothing me and making me feel completely relaxed. This is a slow sort of song. The lyrics are a very caring set of lyrics but they aren’t being sung to anyone in particular. They are a statement about what kind of man that he is and the set of standards that he lives by. He ...

      • wants to be in love so much so that he would want to spend the rest of his life with whoever he is with. He is saying that he doesn’t run around and cheat with everything that comes around. What woman couldn’t love a man like that.

This is a great song by a great country singer. If more people would put aside the original Toby Keith that sang songs that were very often taken as a very male chauvinist type of song. They, indeed were to

some extent but most people learned to take that in stride. Now Toby has taken a different route and it’s a nice change. Pick ‘Em Up, Lay ‘Em Down is one of Toby’s best songs and I can only hope that many others like the change in Toby’s style. Now that he can make his own music without restraints, this is what we will be seeing more of. I highly recommend that you put this song in your collection of Toby Keith songs to enjoy for years to come.
