  • I am always looking for the easiest way to help keep my kids healthy, and sometimes some of the medication on the market just doesn't provide that kind of security that it's doing the best job it can be doing
  • I thought these Hyland's Cold Relief with Zinc 4 Kids Medicated Strips would help take care of the problem of a nasty syrup
  • Of course there was always the possibility that the strips will dissolve in the mouth and taste just as bad as the syrup, but I thought it would be something the kids would find a bit novel and wouldn't mind trying
  • At that rate it wont last very long, if it only comes with twelve in the box, but I know that Hyland's is one of those companies that put out medications of a homeopathic or natural origin, so I've never questioned that it might possibly be bad for me or my kids
  • I have tried a strip myself, just out of curiosity on how it tastes, and it can have a rather bitter and medicinal aftertaste that I personally don't much care for, and I imagine, based on the scrunched up faces of my children while they took it, that they didn't much care for it either, but I think because it was something new and interesting, in its strip form, that they were still pretty willing

I am always looking for the easiest way to help keep my kids healthy, and sometimes some of the medication on the market just doesn’t provide that kind of security that it’s doing the best job it can be doing. And not only that but most medicine is something kids run and hide from, quite literally, and it’s a job and a half to get them to take the medicine to begin with. If I’m coming at any of my kids with a little plastic cup full of some green or red colored syrup, they wont have any part of it and will make sure it’s as difficult a process as possible to give them that medication. I can’t say I really blame them because nothing about medication promises it’s going to taste good, but at least we can try to arrange a scenario in which

it’s not awful and that’s probably the most we should hope for.

I thought these Hyland’s Cold Relief with Zinc 4 Kids Medicated Strips would help take care of the problem of a nasty syrup. Of course there was always the possibility that the strips will dissolve in the mouth and taste just as bad as the syrup, but I thought it would be something the kids would find a bit novel and wouldn’t mind trying. The box comes with twelve individually wrapped medicated strips. You take one by dissolving it in the mouth every half an hour until the symptoms dissipate (up to four strips) and then every four hours after. At that rate it wont last very long, if it only comes with twelve in the box, but I know that Hyland’s is one of those companies that put out medications of a homeopathic ...

      • or natural origin, so I’ve never questioned that it might possibly be bad for me or my kids… quite the opposite in fact. Usually we’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Hyland’s products, and worse case scenario, the product just doesn’t work.

I have tried a strip myself, just out of curiosity on how it tastes, and it can have a rather bitter and medicinal aftertaste that I personally don’t much care for, and I imagine, based on the scrunched up faces of my children while they took it, that they didn’t much care for it either, but I think because it was something new and interesting, in its strip form, that they were still pretty willing. They were so used to the syrup that anything different was automatically better.

And it worked very well. It was subtle, it never made my children feel like they’d

been drugged. They never acted or felt loopy or tired, and in fact seemed to have far more energy as a result of this medication than they would have had otherwise, because when you’re sick of course the last thing you want to do is anything else aside from sleep. They were awake and alert and even seemed to feel GOOD after the first few hours. The sniffling was still present, but didn’t seem to be weighing them down with a heavy amount of congestion, and there was no coughing to begin with, so that hadn’t changed. But my child’s fever was gone, despite not having given them very specific fever-reducing medications like I’d assumed was a necessity in the past. I know Hyland’s Cold Relief with Zinc works and works well. The strips are great, easy to use, and super mess-free, especially for those kids younger than 6.
