  • The most interesting part of the book (other than the recipes) is the introduction section
  • In the introduction section, there is a building blocks to milkshakes which I thought was going to consist of milk and ice-cream, and which types of milk and ice-cream are better than others when preparing milkshakes

Thoroughly modern milkshakes: 100 classics and contemporary recipes

      By Adam Reid

“Thoroughly modern milkshakes: 100 classics and contemporary recipes” by Adam Reid is an unconventional and definitely modernized outlook on the idea of milkshakes. Milkshakes are usually thought of as ice-cream and milk blended together; however, Adam Reid opens up a new creative approach on milkshakes, and how they don’t have to be your usual ice-cream and milk.

The most interesting part of the

book (other than the recipes) is the introduction section. In the introduction section, there is a building blocks to milkshakes which I thought was going to consist of milk and ice-cream, and which types of milk and ice-cream are better than others when preparing milkshakes; however, it takes a turn towards using sorbets, herbs and spices, nuts, and other ingredients I would not have thought to include into a milkshake.

      The book does ...

      • a good job of sharing really creative and interesting recipes, and all the recipes included in the book are based on the building blocks mentioned in the introduction. Some have alcohol in them, some have fruits and buts, some have herbs an spices, and so on and so on. It really allows you to think outside the box where milkshakes are concerned. The recipes are easy to follow and there is something
for everyone, especially if you’re a chocolate lover.

Overall, “Thoroughly modern milkshakes: 100 classics and contemporary recipes” is a great book to have if you love milkshakes, and if you simply enjoy food and beverages. The book gives a twist on the idea of milkshakes, and it also allows you to think creatively when you’re making milkshakes for yourself or guests. You could also come up with creative ways to prepare milkshakes for children.
