  • The cost of the bottle seemed reasonable in comparison to other types of wood cleaners so that is why I decided to give it a try
  • After bringing home the Murphy's Oil Soap, I decided to wipe down the kitchen cupboards with it
  • I used a soft, clean cloth, which I think was an old t-shirt, and poured a little bit of the Murphy's Oil Soap directly on it
  • I would recommend Murphy's Oil Soap for cleaning heavier dirt jobs on wood surfaces
  • As long as you are not instructed to not use this product on the wood surface you intend to use it on, there should be no problem with using it on your wood surface

I purchased Murphy’s Oil Soap at the grocery store for $3.49 for a 32 oz. bottle. I needed something to clean the wood cabinets in the kitchen and the baseboards. I heard that Murphy’s Oil Soap does a good job and keeps the wood looking fresh as well as keeps the wood from getting too dried out. I figured I would give it a try to see if it would work for me. The cost of the bottle seemed reasonable in comparison to other types of wood cleaners so that is why I decided to give it a try.

After bringing home the Murphy’s Oil Soap, I decided to wipe down the kitchen cupboards with it. I used a soft, clean cloth, which I think was an old t-shirt, and poured

a little bit of the Murphy’s Oil Soap directly on it. I proceeded to wiped down the cupboards with the rag. There was a very shiny look to the cupboards and I could see the dirt on the rag so I knew that it was working. The smell of Murphy’s Oil Soap is a little indescribable. It smells like soap mixed with something else. It isn’t a strong or overwhelming smell. In fact, it almost gives a warm, homey feeling. It did a great job of getting the cupboards clean so I have no complaints about it. It must be noted that this is an oily substance and your hands will likely feel very oily after using it. This soap is great for furniture surfaces, wood floors, baseboards and cupboards,

      • among other things. I do not use it every time I clean though. I save it for times that need a better cleaning than others. For instance, I use it for cleaning surfaces during Spring and Fall house cleaning.

I would recommend Murphy’s Oil Soap for cleaning heavier dirt jobs on wood surfaces. Sometimes you need a better clean than you would other times. That is when I use Murphy’s Oil Soap. It can be used for everyday cleaning if you so choose, but I would recommend that you save it for only the heavier cleaning days. You don’t need to soak the wood every time you clean. Regular cleaners will usually do the trick. I would and have purchased Murphy’s Oil Soap again. It does a great job and

it gets a shine on your wood surfaces like you cannot get elsewhere. It is a good soap and it does have an interesting aroma to it that I can’t quite put my finger on. It is well worth the money that you spend on it as long as you use it for it’s intended purpose. Be certain that the surfaces you are using it on don’t specifically state what you should use to clean it. If you use the wrong products to clean wood surfaces, you can ruin it and have to replace it. That isn’t worth making the mistake. As long as you are not instructed to not use this product on the wood surface you intend to use it on, there should be no problem with using it on your wood surface.
