I am reviewing the Valentine One Radar detector. I have had this radar detector since 2001 and has saved me countless of times. What makes this radar detector stand out from any other radar detector out in the market today is that it has directional arrows telling you where the threat or radar source is coming from.

It tells you if the threat is from the front (most dangerous) or the rear. It even tells you if the threat is coming from the sides.

      Remember that

police can not get an accurate reading of your speed if they are for instance down some alley facing the street and you pass by. The radar waves need time to bounce of you and back to the radar gun.

The other detectors will just beep and you have no idea if the threat was from the front or the rear. Other features also include threat count.

The radar will tell you the number of threats the radar is picking up. Up to nine threats will ...

      • be displayed.

So if you drive by your local grocery store everyday and you know your V1 beeps every time you pass showing one threat, but today it shows two, for sure you got an officer in the vicinity. The radar picks up K, Ka, X, bands and laser.

The range on the V1 has been tested independently numerous times on the internet to have one of the longest ranges compared to other radar detectors. The V1 is also programmable.

You can turn off certain features

such as X band. X band is not used that much nowadays but there are a few rural cities which still use X band.

Remember just because you use a radar detector doesn’t make you immune to police radar. If you are the only one on the road you will be the first to get hit and most probably busted.

Radar only works if the police has his radar on all the time or if he targets vehicles ahead of you which you will detect. Happy driving.
