  • These frozen meatballs have almost a handful of flavors, but the problem is none of the flavors stand out as being particularly strong or memorable
  • I think I tasted more ground beef than anything else in these meatballs, but to be fair, the primary ingredient of a meatball is ground beef, so naturally it's going to be the most prominent flavor
  • The other flavors didn't stand out as well as the ground beef though, and that's kind of what disappointed me about these meatballs
  • I like to add them to pasta dishes and soups and that's how I almost always enjoy them, so it's important to me that a meatball tastes good when eaten by itself and when eaten with other foods
  • I believe a 6 rating is a fair rating for these Bremer Select Italian Style Meatballs

Finding good frozen meatballs isn’t a task that is easily accomplished. Frozen meatballs simply don’t taste as good or come as solid as homemade meatballs. Making meatballs at home though requires time and time is not always something that I have in abundance. Thus, purchasing pre-made frozen meatballs for pasta or soup dishes is sometimes the most practical option as the only other option is having a pasta or soup meal without meatballs, and that just serves to make the meal seem incomplete and not as satisfying. Meatballs add flavor to a pasta or soup meal and contribute to how filling the meal ends up being. While these frozen meatballs are just as filling as homemade meatballs, the flavor they offer isn’t all that scrumptious.

flavors stand out as being particularly strong or memorable. There’s, of course, the ground beef, which had a mildly enjoyable flavor that stood out. I think I tasted more ground beef than anything else in these meatballs, but to be fair, the primary ingredient of a meatball is ground beef, so naturally it’s going to be the most prominent flavor. The other flavors didn’t stand out as well as the ground beef though, and that’s kind of what disappointed me about these meatballs. The Romano cheese in these meatballs was pretty much nonexistent after I placed these meatballs on a plate with my pasta and added the pasta sauce and cheese. I could make out the Romano when I sampled one of these meatballs plain, but I seldom eat meatballs plain. I like to add them to pasta dishes and ...

      • soups and that’s how I almost always enjoy them, so it’s important to me that a meatball tastes good when eaten by itself and when eaten with other foods. Another flavor that stood out slightly better than the Romano cheese was this Italian spice or seasoning used. The Italian spice or seasoning was reminiscent of basil with some oregano and what tasted like rosemary all mixed together. Although the spice or seasoning didn’t project a flavor that was as prevalent as the ground beef flavor, it did help make these meatballs satisfying to an extent. I wish that both the Romano and Italian seasoning flavors were both stronger as that would’ve resulted in me enjoying these meatballs a lot more. I also would have liked these meatballs more if they were crispier and harder and not as soft and mushy
        as they came out.

These frozen meatballs certainly had potential and to an extent, they satisfied me. I liked the flavors packed inside of the meatballs, I just wish that the flavors were more exciting to the taste buds and not as mild as they were. I also feel that the meatballs needed to be harder and not prone to falling apart as easily as they did. The above complaints did interfere with the amount of satisfaction that I derived from eating these meatballs. I also feel that considering the quality of the meatballs, five dollars is too much to pay a second time for a thirty-two ounce bag. I wouldn’t have felt that way if the flavor and texture of these meatballs was better. I believe a “6″ rating is a fair rating for these Bremer Select Italian Style Meatballs.

On 6/13/20 I purchased a 32oz pkg of BREMER ITALIAN STYLE MEATBALLS(320z) at ALDI in Charlotte NC, that was the worse purchased I have ever made because there was not one bug but two bugs in the bag, One was an ant and the other I could not identify. I was grossed out. I have not been back to store to inform them but I will. Even though they are not the packing company, I think they need to know. Yuk
