Mountain Dew Throwback, unlike Pepsi Throwback, actually differs quite a bit in flavor when compared with regular Mountain Dew. Pepsi Throwback and regular Pepsi have a similar flavor despite the slight difference in sweetness. Mountain Dew Throwback however has a prominent orange juice flavor that regular Mountain Dew does not have. With regular Mountain Dew, there’s a lime-like flavor that pretty much dominates the soft drink and there’s very little orange juice flavoring. Now Mountain

Dew Throwback still does taste like Mountain Dew to an extent because that lime-like flavor is still present, it just isn’t as noticeable at first because the orange juice concentrate is what I first taste when I take a drink.

Mountain Dew Throwback doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient, and that is a good thing since high fructose corn syrup may be a causing factor that results in health problems later in life. Dew and Mountain Dew Throwback as Mountain Dew is my second favorite beverage behind classic Coca-Cola. Both Mountain Dew and Mountain Dew Throwback are refreshing beverages, and it’s nice to have two variations of the beverage to be able to enjoy.

It admittedly takes a little time to get accustomed to the flavor of Mountain Dew Throwback. It’s different from regular Mountain Dew and that difference in flavor may not agree with some people. I personally

think the blending of orange and lime works and the strong orange burst of flavor that comes ahead of the more traditional although still potent lime taste makes for a tasty soft drink. The use of real sugar in place of high fructose corn syrup is a very welcomed move and I only hope that the Coca-Cola Company follows suit and releases a classic Coca-Cola Throwback. I feel this delicious beverage is very deserving of a “10″ rating.
