  • I don't think Pepsi tastes as good as Coke, but it's an alright soft drink
  • The taste and texture of the soft drink is definitely different from that of regular Pepsi
  • What's interesting about Pepsi Throwback is when I first take a drink, the beverage doesn't taste quite as sweet as regular Pepsi
  • It was a rather odd experience the first few times I took a drink of Pepsi Throwback
  • The aftertaste is somewhat sweeter, but the carbonated bite seems weaker, and that bite is what I like about carbonated beverages, so naturally I'm going to drink the ones that offer the sharper bites over the more mild ones

Although I’m a classic Coca-Cola drinker at heart, I don’t mind drinking Pepsi now and then. I don’t think Pepsi tastes as good as Coke, but it’s an alright soft drink. What attracted me to Pepsi Throwback is the real sugar ingredient in place of the potentially dangerous high fructose corn syrup. I’m no fan of high fructose corn syrup and I’m concerned with the possible health consequences of consuming too much high fructose corn syrup, but I also very much dislike the idea of giving up soft drinks. I wish that the Coca-Cola Company would do what

Pepsi did and replace the high fructose corn syrup with sugar. Pepsi Throwback is a different kind of Pepsi without a doubt. The taste and texture of the soft drink is definitely different from that of regular Pepsi.

What’s interesting about Pepsi Throwback is when I first take a drink, the beverage doesn’t taste quite as sweet as regular Pepsi. As I swallow the soft drink though, it leaves behind a super sweet aftertaste. It was a rather odd experience the first few times I took a drink of Pepsi Throwback. I really can’t decide if I like the ...

      • sweet aftertaste better than the upfront sweetness that I taste when I drink regular Pepsi. Something else that I noticed as being different was the texture of the soda felt less biting and bubbly when compared with regular Pepsi. In this respect, the Pepsi Throwback beverage seems like the “softer” of the two soft drinks. The regular Pepsi with the high fructose corn syrup has the sharper bite to it, and I do prefer that sharper bite to the more mild Pepsi Throwback. Thus, despite the high fructose corn syrup, I have to say that the regular Pepsi
and not the Pepsi Throwback is my preferred beverage of choice when it comes to Pepsi.

Pepsi Throwback is still a decent soft drink and I finished the twelve pack without much difficulty, but I didn’t enjoy the Pepsi Throwback beverage as much as regular Pepsi. The aftertaste is somewhat sweeter, but the carbonated bite seems weaker, and that bite is what I like about carbonated beverages, so naturally I’m going to drink the ones that offer the sharper bites over the more mild ones. I feel that the Pepsi Throwback beverage is deserving of a “7″ rating.
