  • On the upside, it is small and cheap, (about $180a good price for a camera its size) with an ample 6 megapixels, but its pictures tend to be dark and blurry, is 3x zoom leaves a bit to be desired, and it has a voracious appetite for batteries

The Cybershot S500 is a fairly run-of-the-mill small digital camera, one that is perhaps best avoided. On the upside, it is small and cheap, (about $180a good price for a camera its size) with

an ample 6 megapixels, but its pictures tend to be dark and blurry, is 3x zoom leaves a bit to be desired, and it has a voracious appetite for batteries. A better camera would ...

      • use rechargable batteries, or at least run for longer on its AAs. (I have a Canon PowerShot that can take twice as nany pictures as this one can on its batteries. ) If your
are looking for a small, inexpensive digital camera, look at some of the smaller Canon Powershots, otherwise spend a bit more money on a better Sony. There are better cameras of this vareity available.
