  • I know that food from the Tesco Finest range tends to be of a very good quality, but this is from the Restaurant Collection within that range
  • Looking at the box, it also contains ganache which I think is in the mousse, but anyway, the whole flavour of this lovely dessert is of a very, very rich Belgian chocolate, which is always a taste sensation
  • They would usually cost £3.50 for the two desserts, but I managed to pick them up at the reduced price of £2.45, which is not bad considering you are paying for the wonderful quality of them

I treated myself to this packet of two Belgian Chocolate Tortes today and, having eaten one of them, I can say they are of exceptional quality and utterly gorgeous. You will love them if you are a chocolate fiend like me. I am having a cozy day in by myself today just watching telly, so these are a little treat for me, but as they are so well presented - just like they would be served in a restaurant - they would be perfect for a dinner party. I know that food from the Tesco Finest range

tends to be of a very good quality, but this is from the Restaurant Collection within that range. As it says on the packaging, the finest ingredients are chosen and the tortes have been ‘crafted’ by chefs.

I did not previously know what a ‘torte’ is, but anyway these are basically a smallish (2.5 inches in diameter) round shape of a really good quality chocolate mousse with a base of about a centimetre of chocolate sponge. There is also a thin piece of Belgian chocolate sticking into the top of the mousse which gives it an artistic look (plus,

      • the chocolate tastes great) and a sprinkle of chocolate powder on top. Looking at the box, it also contains ganache which I think is in the mousse, but anyway, the whole flavour of this lovely dessert is of a very, very rich Belgian chocolate, which is always a taste sensation. I think this is a beautiful dessert, that is rich and filling and will satisfy any chocolate craving.

Each tortes contains 245 calories which, considering they are so rich and filling (not to mention the wonderful taste) I think that is pretty good. I know I will not

want to eat anything else until my evening meal, which I will then no doubt finish off with the other dessert in the packet. I can tell you these are made with free range eggs, but if you want to know the rest of the ingredients then please have a look at them in your local Tesco. They would usually cost £3.50 for the two desserts, but I managed to pick them up at the reduced price of £2.45, which is not bad considering you are paying for the wonderful quality of them. I would totally recommend these.
