Silent Night Deadly Night is a 1984 Christmas/Horror film. It is about a young boy named Billy who was traumatized by the death of his parents. His parents were killed by a killer disguised in Santa suit when he was a very young boy. He gets put into an orphanage. He still remains traumatized by the evil Santa even when he is in the orphanage for a coupe of years.

he is even more traumatized by an abusive nun ,Mother Superior, who is partially in charge of the orphanage. When he expressed his discomfort with things related to Santa,he would usually get beat by her. When gets 18,moves out of the orphanage and gets

employment,he still fears Santa very much. He gets a job in a toy store and then one day,he has to dress up as Santa for a special occasion.

at the toy store. Everything goes fine until he sees a girl getting raped. He stopped it by killing the attacker but the woman was not grateful. She threatened to call the police so he killed her.

For some reason,he now feels that he’s Santa Claus and has the power to kill. He then starts going around killing people that he thinks have performed evil acts. he killed a couple of boys who stole a sleigh from another boy. He also kills a teenage daughter who is having sex.

      Eventually,he ...

      • makes his way to the orphanage where he grew up to kill Mother Superior. The cops come in just in time to shoot him. Billy says that it is safe now that Santa Claus is dead. He was referring to himself since he thought he was Santa Claus while in the suit.

I thought this film had average appeal. It was a horror film with a Christmas theme. it was a creative, yet disturbing idea. I liked how the actor was able to portray Billy’s insanity.

he really thought he was Santa Claus when he had to put the suit on. The premise is interesting and chilling. it draws you in pretty easily. You feel sorry for Billy when he

goes through childhood traumas involving Santa Claus.

I also tended to feel sympathetic towards Billy. He is portrayed as more or less a mentally ill person instead of evil. I liked how the directors were able to create a sympathetic killer in the film. It was innovative.

however, the film got a little boring at times. It was mostly a slasher film with a guy in a Santa suit going on a killing spree. it is also sort of a strange idea to mix a Christmas and horror film together. It was a good attempt however.

it was an interesting movie with pretty good psychological issues in it. Billy’s insanity was a result of a bunch of childhood traumas he experienced.
