  • Unfortunately, the size of the chocolate cake isn't the biggest problem this snack cake suffers from though
  • There looks to be a lot of chocolate from the top to the bottom to the left and to the right of this cake, but the flavor just isn't that there in abundance, and that is a problem more significant than the size of the chocolate cake
  • If I want some delicious chocolate cake, I'll purchase the Great Value Chocolate Cupcakes

Little Debbie Petites Chocolate Cakes are rectangular snack cakes that are indeed petite. Two big bites or three moderate size bites, and the snack cakes are history. The cakes are thus on the small side. Unfortunately, the size of the chocolate cake isn’t the biggest problem this snack cake suffers from though: they just don’t have a terrifically rich chocolate flavor. I’m surprised, too, since the chocolate cakes consist of a chocolate cake portion and a chocolate frosting

topping. There looks to be a lot of chocolate from the top to the bottom to the left and to the right of this cake, but the flavor just isn’t that there in abundance, and that is a problem more significant than the size of the chocolate cake.

The chocolate cake was, at least, moist. I liked how fresh and soft the chocolate cake was. The chocolate cake itself though was, at least to me, somewhat bland tasting. The ...

      • chocolate flavor was faint and not very satisfying to the taste, as a result. The chocolate frosting at least was a little richer, but compared to say the chocolate frosting sold down the baking aisle under the Pillsbury or Duncan Hines, this frosting wasn’t very good. Even compared to other snack products, like Hostess Cupcakes, which have a chocolate frosting, this chocolate frosting was lacking in flavor.

I finished all six that were in the box, but at

three dollars a box, these chocolate cakes aren’t worth the money, or even half that. They’re moist, and that’s the only thing they really have going for them. Other than that, they aren’t even mildly satisfying in flavor. For the above reasons, I’m rating these chocolate cakes a “3″ rating. If I want some delicious chocolate cake, I’ll purchase the Great Value Chocolate Cupcakes. Now those have a deliciously rich chocolaty flavor that really rocks the taste buds!
