  • It is amazing to me how many different medications I can try in a four week period, but I can't seem to shake whatever it is I have and I've been to the store every other day trying something new because not a whole lot seems to be working for me, mostly because I'm not sure if it's allergy related or cold and flu related and so I end up taking something for everything and hope for the best
  • But one of the reasons I like this particular chest rub is because you can use it for more than just coughing caused by the common cold
  • I thought mentholated products would be bad on a burn, but I've used it before for a minor sunburn on my forehead after being out in the sun too long one day and it works great because it seems to really cool the skin down and make you feel like you have just splashed your face with some cool water
  • So I know it's great on a burn, and I know that it helps open up the breathing passages and at least make coughing a little more productive, but you can also use it on minor scrapes and cuts too
  • I think using something like this on cuts has actually worked better for me than things like neosporin or other name brand antibiotic creams

It is amazing to me how many different medications I can try in a four week period, but I can’t seem to shake whatever it is I have and I’ve been to the store every other day trying something new because not a whole lot seems to be working for me, mostly because I’m not sure if it’s allergy related or cold and flu related and so I end up taking something for everything and hope for the best. I have some serious head and chest congestion going on which is causing me a lot of trouble.

The head congestion is so severe that my face feels like it’s going to explode and even my teeth and jaw hurts from all the buildup in my sinus cavities. The coughing isn’t any better either and I was hoping that a mentholated

chest rub would help which is why I got the Watkins Chest Rub. I can breathe through my nose a little bit, and I figured that this kind of chest rub would help open up the nasal and bronchial passages to help me breathe better.

But one of the reasons I like this particular chest rub is because you can use it for more than just coughing caused by the common cold. I have to say that it actually didn’t even work all that well to prevent coughing. But it did open up my bronchial passages and at least made the coughing a little more productive, which is good in and of itself, but I’d have prefered if it stopped the coughing all together.

You can also use this chest rub for things like pain from a sunburn. I thought ...

It comes in a cute screw-top tin that is flat enough to throw in a purse or pocket and not get in the way very much and it’s a thick enough rub that it wont get gooey and leak everywhere. It does have a bit of a greasy feeling to it, but I can deal with that so long as it works. So I know it’s great on a burn, and I know that it helps open up the breathing passages and

at least make coughing a little more productive, but you can also use it on minor scrapes and cuts too.

Menthol has anti-biotic properties, and it doesn’t sting when you use it on a cut or scrape, and just makes it feel nice and cool, and it’s really a soothing application for this kind of problem. I think using something like this on cuts has actually worked better for me than things like neosporin or other name brand antibiotic creams. Plus I just like anything that has a lot of different uses and comes in a conveniently sized and shaped tin can that is easy to carry with me. It’s also great for hard and cracked cuticles, I’ve found, and that was purely by accident, but still a nice addition to something that works so well for so many things to begin with.
