  • It's one of those few medicines that don't always taste like a medicine and tend to make me feel warm and toasty inside and out, and that relaxation, more than anything, is one of the best get-better elements a person can give themselves
  • I usually have a stock of TheraFlu packets in my house year round because if I so much as get the sniffles I like to pull it out and make myself a nice warm cup of the lemon flavored cold and cough
  • And when I saw that there was an apple cinnamon flavor, I was all over it because I love that flavor, and thought it had to work as good as the other TheraFlu products that I've tried over the years
  • When I bought the Cold & Sore Throat apple cinnamon flavor TheraFlu, that's exactly what I had
  • I wasn't really coughing much, so I walked right on past the normal lemon kind that I get that's for coughing, and went to this one, which is much more mild I think in the medicines that it contains

What can I say about this TheraFlu product? A whole lot. Normally I really love TheraFlu. It’s one of those few medicines that don’t always taste like a medicine and tend to make me feel warm and toasty inside and out, and that relaxation, more than anything, is one of the best get-better elements a person can give themselves. I usually have a stock of TheraFlu packets in my house year round because if I so much as get the sniffles I like to pull it out and make myself a nice warm cup of the lemon flavored cold and cough. And when I saw that there was an apple cinnamon flavor, I was all over it because I love that flavor, and thought it had to work as good as the other TheraFlu products that I’ve tried over the

      years. Not so, however.

The smell is very nice. I’ll give it that much. It really does smell like apple cinnamon. I had a couple co-workers compliment on what I was drinking because it smelled so nice, but that’s where the niceness stops as far as I’m concerned.

You’re supposed to add a packet to 8 ounces of very hot water. I usually will just fill up my coffee maker with water and get the water hot that way, and then just leave the coffee maker turned on all day so I have access to hot water whenever I want to make another cup (great for tea this way too). You don’t even have to stir it very much before it’s fully dissolved in the water, too, so I was thinking I was going to get a treat out of ...

      • this.

When I bought the Cold & Sore Throat apple cinnamon flavor TheraFlu, that’s exactly what I had. A cold and sore throat. I wasn’t really coughing much, so I walked right on past the normal lemon kind that I get that’s for coughing, and went to this one, which is much more mild I think in the medicines that it contains.

As long as you drink down in the first ten minutes, while the water is still really hot, then it’s not so bad. It does help soothe a sore throat, but it didn’t touch any of my congestion at all. But the surprisingly bad thing about it was that it started to taste awful the more cooled down it got. After about fifteen minutes, when I was half-way through the cup, I started to notice an incredibly bad

aftertaste that reminded me of crushed up asprin.

I don’t even like swallowing asprin with a cup of water because it can still leave that bad aftertaste, and that’s what this stuff does as well. And each sip I took after that seemed to build up that aftertaste until I literally thought I was going to be sick off of it. So my advice is that if you are going to use this particular flavor, I would suggest you keep that water as hot as possible, but so it’s still drinkable, because the minute it starts to cool down at all, it just tastes like a disaster in a cup. It was pretty disappointing because I’ve sworn by TheraFlu products for years, and I just can’t stomach the though of drinking this one again even though the smell was so wonderful.
