The Columbia Independent College Prepartory School in Columbia Missouri is outstanding! This is a small private school with just over 230 children. The teachers and staff are top professionals in the field. Many of the instructors are also professors at Missouri University.

Entrance to the school is very competitive. Children accepted must excel academically as well as socially. Problem students need not apply; they simply won’t be accepted or tolerated.

Class sizes are small, usually around 15. The teachers

are absolutely amazing, and the parents are extremely dedicated. Everyone at the school makes you feel welcome, and I never have to worry about someone being mean to my child.

From the very start, the Junior Kindergarten class offers Spanish, Art, Drama, and Science. Students rotate classes every 45 minutes just like in high school. Students are encouraged to join the band, chess club, student council, Chinese classes, running club… from Kindergarten on up to 12th grade.

      My child has ...

      • a great deal of homework, but a great work ethic and loads of self esteem. I have yet to hear anything but positive affirmations from the teachers.

My favorite thing about this school is the teamwork that goes on each and everyday between the students’ staff and parents. Everyone seems to care, and my child is miles ahead of other children her age attending other schools. Students graduating from this school are definitely leaders.

I highly recommend this school to

anyone looking for a challenging curriculum; but be prepared to be just as involved in this school as your child. The only draw back so far is the price. Financial assistance is available, but be prepared to contribute a significant portion. The school also has lunch catered, which is extra and unavoidable. Sack lunches are not an option.

I rate this school a 10 even with the pricey tuition. I feel that this school is superior at any price.
