You can actually tell apart a piece of timeless classic from a timely fad by how long it takes to actually get out of style. the book eclipse for example is a timely fad that enthralled the hearts and minds of teenagers, (most of them women) from almost every continent. the question is however, is whether this fad will last as long as the lives of the vampires in the book. Eclipse aside, a timeless piece of

literature can be seen to live out even long after an authors death.

George Orwell created a literary masterpiece in his novel 1984. which was based on the future back then which was 1984 (the book was written in the 50’s) the book portrays the different effects that media, and our search for a perfect society would eventually lead us to. the book portrays a grim future in which everything is politically correct and free speech has been ...

      • abolished. writing a journal and expressing ones thoughts freely would result in death. even the mere utterance of going against the system was a thought crime punishable by the ever powerful government ruled by the one and only Big Brother.

The overall story is dark and at times heavy with a few glimmers of hope for the future, the atmosphere of the book and the characters must have been influenced by Orwell’s condition when he was writing this.

(he wrote the second half during his dying days.nevertheless it is highly regarded as a timeless classic to both scholars and students alike. because the future portrayed in 1984. always seems to get closer and closer as each generation passes by.

the greatest message that this book says is that for as long as this book can be read by the public, we can be assured that we are yet to arrive in the future that is 1984.
