  • As at September 2010, Vodafone as come out with an offer to call all networks at a reduced cost of 8 pesewa
  • I would recommend Vodafone as a second rated telecommunication network in Ghana, after MTN, because they equally offer cheaper phone calls and had a lot bonus for its subscribers

Vodafone is a telecommunication network based in the United Kingdom and acquired Ghana Telecom in 2008, following the Ghana Government’s decision to sell out 75% shares of Ghana Telecom for 50years. There were many political issues about this deal, even till to now.

The national headquarters of Vodafone is located at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Adabraka, Accra. They provide the official telecommunication service for Ghana Government and own the Ghana Telecom University. With many branches nationwide, Vodafone is second to MTN in providing mobile

      telecommunication service.

I subscribe to Vodafone call services too mainly because of making official call. In Ghana it is more expensive to call a number from a different network or service provider. And because of that, it is cheaper to call same-network numbers than cross-network numbers.

Vodafone offers really competitive services for their subscribers. As at September 2010, Vodafone as come out with an offer to call all networks at a reduced cost of 8 pesewa. They offer 50% discount for subscribes who recharge above GH¢1.00 ...

      • and also has what subscribers can register to make calls for 30minutes at a GH¢0.3 fee which is far cheaper for long duration calls and expensive for snappy ones.

Vodafone Ghana also offers the fastest instant service in Ghana and has internet Café branches in many places across Ghana to run this service. Individuals and business also subscribe to their cable and modern internet services that are not considered bad. Almost all internet Cafe services in Ghana are provided by Vodafone. They are among the leading

providers of modem internet service in Ghana, and offer modems of various packages for all persons who need it.

Vodafone also meet its social responsibilities, like MTN does. They also sponsor league clubs and youth sports development programs. I would recommend Vodafone as a second rated telecommunication network in Ghana, after MTN, because they equally offer cheaper phone calls and had a lot bonus for its subscribers. I do not think Vodafone has a complete nationwide coverage in Ghana. And usually subscribers complain of network problems.
