I found the trailer to the upcoming movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, on youtube. For those who don’t know, this movie is based on the book and because the book was so long (over seven hundred pages), the movie will be in two installments. This review is for the trailer of the first installment.

Wow, what a trailer! It evokes many emotions–excitement, anticipation, and even anxiety for Harry. From the trailer, you can see that this installment will continue the feeling of the last several movies.

That is, they get a little darker with each one. This one will surely be the most dark, and that undertone was obviously displayed from the scenes in the trailer that show Lord Voldemort, Harry’s nemesis. In this trailer, Voldemort is in seach of Harry so that he may kill him. The trailer shows a powerful scene where Harry is indeed using magic to fight Voldemort.

The romance between both Ron and Hermine and between Harry and Ron’s sister Jenny seems to be continuing in this film, and I love that.

      • The trailer shows a scene where Jenny gives Harry a passionate kiss outside, and a scene where Ron puts his arms around Hermine’s shoulders. For those who have followed the films from the beginning, it is nice to see the continued development of these relationships.

I cannot convey enough how exciting this film looks. The last Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I felt was a very good film, but lacked a lot of the excitement of the previous films. It has a slower pace. The trailer

for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows shows what will be clearly be an action packed film. The scene where Harry and Ron are fighting a giant snake, for example, looks chilling.

I cannot wait to see this film; the trailer is amazing right until the very end where the camera goes up the ‘P’ in Potter. The ‘P’ is made to look like iron, which is fitting because it conveys how strong Harry is–like iron. A trailer’s job is to make viewers want to go to the movie, and this one was spot on.
