  • Everyone I know loves bacon and has eaten bacon at some point in their lives
  • I usually prefer imported brands over local ones as I feel that the difference in price is justified because the quality control abroad is more stringent but with bacon, among the other local brands and even some imported ones I have tried, Purefoods is, in terms of taste, the best of all, bar none
  • What I like about Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon is that it tastes so delicious regardless of the way you cook it
  • I have been buying from Purefoods for the past 15 years and I noticed that the slices of their bacon keeps getting thinner and thinner while the price keeps on increasing and increasing
  • The cost of everything might have increased but we will always have our bacon, even if it is just by the gram

Who doesn’t love bacon? Everyone I know loves bacon and has eaten bacon at some point in their lives. In my case, I always find myself craving for bacon and I usually pair it with rice or pancakes. And when it comes to bacon brands, I only go for Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon. When it concerns food, even the slightest change in ingredients or in its preparation makes a whole lot of difference. This is the reason why I go for Purefoods brand. They have perfected the art of making bacon. I usually prefer imported brands over local ones as I feel that the difference in price is justified because the quality control abroad is more stringent but with bacon, among the other local brands and even some imported ones I have tried, Purefoods is, in terms of taste,

the best of all, bar none.

What I like about Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon is that it tastes so delicious regardless of the way you cook it. The taste always keeps you coming back for more. For a time, I swore off salty foods but I made an exception for Purefoods bacon because it’s really my favorite. This particular brand of bacon has a flavor distinct to it that if you take out its label and seat it beside other bacons, I can still differentiate it from the others. Of course, it helps to know that it is probably the one with the thinnest cut. I have been buying from Purefoods for the past 15 years and I noticed that the slices of their bacon keeps getting thinner and thinner while the price keeps on increasing and increasing. It used ...

      • to be that I buy this bacon by the kilo and they even came out with a 2 kilo packaging before but now, with the way its price keeps increasing continuosuly, I just buy it by the gram.

I remember how much I missed this brand of bacon when I vacationed in the states. Whereas we only have a couple of local brands here, they have so many there. My habits don’t really change regardless of where I am and since I always include bacon in my grocery list when I’m here, it was but natural that I also include it there. They did not have Purefoods in Safeway so I decided to try Wright brand. Next to Wright, Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon would have looked malnourished. The Wright brand bacon has a thick cut and you can see

that there is very little fat in their bacon unlike in Purefoods where almost half of a strip can be attributed to fat. Nonetheless, I still prefer the Purefoods brand, fat and all. There is a smokey flavor to the Wright brand which is not present in Purefoods but the latter has the perfect blend of salty taste that I am really crazy for.

The Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon has truly captured the Filipino taste buds. In our house, it is a staple breakfast food. Breakfast just won’t be breakfast without it. The cost of everything might have increased but we will always have our bacon, even if it is just by the gram. Thin cut, fats, high price and ugly packaging, this brand still deserves a 10 in my book as its taste more than makes up for all its shortcomings.
