The Movie is about an American spy named Evelyn Salt who after being exposed as a Russian spy is then hunted down by her fellow CIAs and ends up saving the world from a cold war.

The suspense started pretty soon enough. Within 15 minutes, Jolie is on the run. Displaying her agility, her creativity and her lingerie. Within 45 minutes she’s on the move again. Jumping, running, punching. She remains seductive all throughout with her ever captivating lips. A few minutes after that, she’s causing havoc in the streets. Electrocuting, destroying, cars flying.

Then she walks away from the wreck she has made- unscratched. Like a fashion model walking on a platform. Whew! What a girl!!!

It is a pretty serious movie. Not a romantic comedy like Mr. & Mrs Smith and it doesn’t have that sense of adventure found in Lara Croft. Its a spy thriller that kept my head spinning with its twists and turns. It is so fast-paced that I didn’t have the time to ponder the plot. Only afterwards did I realize that there were certain parts of the story that didn’t add up.

      Angelina Jolie ...

      • gives a remarkable performance. However the movie fails to engrave the character of SALT onto Jolie. After watching this movie I still fancy her as Lara Croft and not Salt. The movie focused more on the story line rather than the character. Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor played their part well but nothing worth mentioning.

It is rated PG 13 and it certainly has intense sequences of violence and action however there weren’t many explosions. Jolie doesn’t talk much here but she kicks a lot of butt and while the stunts were all well done they were

        far from being heart-pounding.

SALT runs for one hour and forty minutes. It was over before I realized it. I wasn’t happy with the ending though. The movie started with a love story. It should have ended with something associated with that. It would have given the movie proper closure. But perhaps they didn’t want to close the story yet. The final conversation between Jolie and Chiwetel could suggest a sequel.

Overall, SALT was quite an entertaining movie. It wasn’t perfect but I wasn’t boring either. So I will give this movie a rating of seven.
