  • There's a lot of it, and while I love mozzarella cheese, the green onions and tomatoes both sort of got covered up by the mozzarella cheese
  • The cheddar cheese wasn't as plentiful as the mozzarella cheese, although there was enough of it for me to taste, and I think it tasted pretty good with the pieces of grilled chicken
  • I do think though I would've preferred the ranch dressing be left off, but there wasn't a lot of it anyway, so it wasn't a major issue

The Fit & Active Chicken Ranch Club Flatbread Melt is a frozen melt that is moderately satisfying to the taste, although I do feel the melt suffers from maybe trying to offer up too many ingredients and thus, some of the ingredients end up being in smaller quantity than others. The mozzarella cheese, for example, is pretty dominating. There’s a lot of it, and while I love mozzarella cheese, the green onions and tomatoes both sort of got covered up by the mozzarella cheese. It wasn’t so easy to taste either the green onions or the tomatoes too regularly and when I did taste them, there wasn’t enough of them to deliver an attention-grabbing moment. I would have preferred that both the green onions and tomatoes been given a greater presence

in this flatbread melt because I feel that would’ve enhanced the flavor of the flatbread melt a bit and made it more satisfying thanks to a more diverse number of ingredients. The green onions and tomatoes that I tasted did taste good and they seemed fresh, so it was disappointing there wasn’t more of them and that I had a somewhat difficult time tasting them.

In addition to the mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese was also present. The cheddar cheese wasn’t as plentiful as the mozzarella cheese, although there was enough of it for me to taste, and I think it tasted pretty good with the pieces of grilled chicken. The grilled chicken, the main component of this flatbread melt, was both flavorful and tender, and I did like that there was quite ...

      • a generous amount of chicken included in the flatbread melt, as there should be. Along with the chicken, there were pieces of bacon, but I didn’t see or taste the bacon very often. The bacon was a little crispy though and it did taste as if it had been cooked pretty thoroughly, which I liked. The ranch dressing went particularly well with the chicken, but kind of clashed in a bit of an unpleasant way with the two cheeses. I don’t personally feel ranch dressing is overly compatible with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, but the clash of the flavors wasn’t enough to ruin the melt for me. I do think though I would’ve preferred the ranch dressing be left off, but there wasn’t a lot of it anyway, so it wasn’t
        a major issue.

Lastly, there’s the flatbread. The flatbread was soft and seemingly very lightly seasoned with something. It did have a pleasant flavor and it held all the ingredients in pretty well. It also didn’t fall apart on me, so that was good too. This is an easily microwavable melt that makes for a quick and moderately satisfying lunch or even afternoon snack. It could be tastier if the company that makes this flatbread melt were to up the number of green onions and tomatoes, but all in all, it’s an above average flatbread melt that delivers, for the most part, in taste, freshness and form, the form being a flatbread melt that isn’t super soggy or prone to falling apart. I feel an “8″ is a fair rating for this two dollar, two-pack box.
