  • Chips Ahoy cookies are good and Peanut Butter Cups are delicious, so combining the two seems like a combination that can't miss

Time and time again, it has been proven that peanut butter and chocolate go extremely well together. Reese’s candy pretty much thrives on this flavor combination. Nabisco has also taken advantage of this, releasing Peanut Butter Chips Ahoy where chocolate chips are put in peanut butter cookies.

They decided to take it one step further and release a new kind of Chips Ahoy cookie that has Peanut Butter Cups in it. In theory, this is a perfect match. Chips Ahoy cookies are good

and Peanut Butter Cups are delicious, so combining the two seems like a combination that can’t miss.

The cookies are good, but honestly, it tastes like a chocolate chip cookie with peanut butter chips as well. If you wanted to use Reese’s peanut butter, that’s fine, and it makes sense to join these two big names, but at the same time, you don’t really taste peanut butter cup in these cookies. As such, while it’s great from a flavor standpoint, it doesn’t stand out as ...

      • much as you’d think it would.

They could’ve just called them Chips Ahoy with Reese’s peanut butter chips and the result would’ve been the same.

Another downside is that each package only holds 18 cookies. That doesn’t last long, especially with cookie lovers like me. I finished it in three sittings and considering Nabisco cookies aren’t filling, I probably could’ve eaten all of them if I wanted to. Maybe adding another row of six would help. It would give the consumers more bang for

their buck and make each package last a little bit longer.

On the plus side, the cookies are bigger than your standard Chips Ahoy cookie, so they did at least try to balance it out.

I would recommend trying these cookies. It doesn’t really seem like a peanut butter cup cookie, but the cookie does have chocolate and peanut butter, which means that as far as flavor goes, it’s a rousing success. It’s just unfortunate that blending the two delicious products came out to be so relatively mundane.
