  • Compared to that experience, Hotelink is a more convenient and hassle-free way to get to the hotel
  • You might find it hard to find the booth but it should be no problem if you just ask
  • Most of the time, there are only few guests in the bus, but there were a few times when there were a lot of passengers and unfortunately, our hotel in Causeway Bay was the last stop and it was an excruciating 2-hour ride as we had to stop and detour many times to get the other passengers off

Whenever we go to Hong Kong, we use the Aiport Hotelink bus service to take us from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. We usually buy the tickets through a travel agency.

A few years back, I went to HK without a hotelink ticket and without a clue on how to get to our hotel. We tried taking the MTR. We got lost and confused many times and received a lot of wrong directions until we ended up somewhere that had a shuttle bus to our hotel in Kowloon.

Compared to that experience, Hotelink is a more convenient and hassle-free way to get to the hotel. After you get out

from the baggage claim area, you just have to find their booth which is located at the far right end. You might find it hard to find the booth but it should be no problem if you just ask. Upon arriving at the booth, they ask you your hotel and then give you your departure time. You then have to proceed to the waiting area for the buses. The waiting area is also quite far (it is on another level), and without good directions, it is likely that you will get lost.

The Hotelink bus is great— is big, clean, and comfortable. There is ample leg space and lot of room for ...

      • luggage. The driver is also very competent and I have never gotten dizzy in the bus. The ride is quite far, depending on where your hotel is. Most of the time, there are only few guests in the bus, but there were a few times when there were a lot of passengers and unfortunately, our hotel in Causeway Bay was the last stop and it was an excruciating 2-hour ride as we had to stop and detour many times to get the other passengers off.

For your departure, you just have to set an appointment with the hotel who will advise you what time is best for you to depart. The bus usually

arrives around 10-15 mins. after your scheduled time. The ride back to the airport always goes smoothly, you just have to take note whether you should get off at terminal 1 or terminal 2.

All in all, it can be quite confusing to figure out the transfers as HK airport is big and has a lot of twists and turns. It is also confusing trying to get to the hotel by yourself. Taking a taxi would be expensive and difficult if you have a lot of luggage. Hotelink is a good option. It is not that cheap, but it should be a convenient and comfortable way to get to your hotel.
