  • I got this product from a friend, she said that since she knows I love a lot of beauty skin care products and hair related products, she should buy me a little something of that
  • So when I saw that it was a Dove spray bottle, at first I thought it was deodorant spray or something, but when I looked closely and actually read it, I saw that it was actually a holding hair spray
  • I am really disappointed in Dove for this, because they really could do better

Okay I’m just going to go ahead and be blunt about this…Dove should really just stick to skin care products. Not hair products. Seriously. I mean you guys make great deodorant, body washes, and soaps, lotions and creams, but the hair? I think you should pass on that. I got this product from a friend, she said that since she knows I love a lot of beauty skin care products and hair related products, she should buy me a little something of that. So when I saw that it was a Dove spray bottle, at first I thought it was deodorant spray or something, but when I looked closely and actually read it, I saw that it was actually a holding hair spray. At first I was like what? Since when did Dove make hair products? But I

digress. I thanked her for the gift. I used this product on my hair the following weekend, I had to go out and I figured my hair needed a boost of volume and it needed to stick, so I used a bit of volume mousse, and to make it stay I sprayed on the Dove holding spray.

      It was horrible! Absolutely horrible.

At first, the product didn’t even want to come out, like it was stuck or something? I didn’t get it! So I shook it up a bit, and still nothing. I looked into the nozzle, and it was disgusting. It looked like just a lot of white powdery clay or something inside it, I did not understand it at all. It was like it was dried up inside the nozzle. So I took a rat tail comb ...

      • of mine, and I cleared it out, and finally it sprayed. So I sprayed all of my hair, and boy did this thing stink! It smelled really harsh, like some crazy chemical or something. I seriously almost got scared. It was a shame, because Dove can make their skin care products smell really nice, like lime, lemon grass, citrus, pine, ocean, etc. Scents like that. But for some reason I wasn’t seeing any results after spraying it! Just to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me, I lifted up a strand of hair, and I sprayed it a lot with the Dove holding spray and guess what. Nothing happened. It didn’t hold up, it didn’t stick, nothing. It was like nothing. Seriously. So I gave up on it that evening, I said whatever, I guess my
hair just isn’t going to be held and maintained tonight! Finally when I looked into the mirror, my hair was a mess! A hot mess. It looked incredibly shiny, you would have thought I used sheen spray on my hair instead. Fast forward a couple hours later. I went to the bathroom to check my looks, and I had white crusty flakes and clumps all over my hair. It was unbelievable. The product dried itself on my hair! Ugh!

Overall, this is a horrible product. I am really disappointed in Dove for this, because they really could do better. This has no hold, it dries and clumps up both in the nozzle and in your hair, and the smell reeks. Thank goodness I didn’t purchase this product; I got it as a gift. I trashed it the first night of use. Horrible!
