  • Michelina's Spaghetti with Meat Sauce didn't end up being a meal that I found to be particularly tasty or memorable
  • Even still though, had I not added a side salad and some garlic Texas Toast to the meal, I definitely think that I still would've been kind of hungry and not overly satisfied in terms of fullness
  • The main problem that I had with this spaghetti meal is the lack of significant meat in the meat sauce and a sauce that was just, well, kind of bland
  • When I eat pasta, I don't like the sauce to be in the background, I like it to be in the foreground, where it can entertain my taste buds, because it surely needs to since pasta alone doesn't contribute hardly any flavor

Michelina’s Spaghetti with Meat Sauce didn’t end up being a meal that I found to be particularly tasty or memorable. There was nothing at all wrong with the spaghetti as the spaghetti was tender in texture and about as thick as the spaghetti that can be bought in the grocery store in boxes that simply read “spaghetti”. It wasn’t thin spaghetti, and because it wasn’t, it ended up being a bit more filling than I originally thought it was going to be. Even still though, had I not added a side salad and some garlic Texas Toast to the meal, I definitely think that I still would’ve been kind of hungry

and not overly satisfied in terms of fullness. The main problem that I had with this spaghetti meal is the lack of significant meat in the meat sauce and a sauce that was just, well, kind of bland.

Now for one dollar, perhaps I’m expecting too much here, but there just wasn’t a lot of pieces of meat in this frozen meal. There was enough so that it couldn’t be called marinara sauce, but not really a heaping helping or anything like that. There was the occasional piece of meat, but it was a bit difficult to spot the pieces of meat. The meat did have a good flavor to it though ...

      • and that’s obviously why I was craving more. As for the sauce, it was a bit on the watery side and it didn’t quite taste like much. I don’t know if it was seasoned or if herbs were added, but the sauce mainly seemed to be present to keep the spaghetti moist rather than add a distinctly noticeable flair of flavor. When I eat pasta, I don’t like the sauce to be in the background, I like it to be in the foreground, where it can entertain my taste buds, because it surely needs to since pasta alone doesn’t contribute hardly any flavor. It’s the sauce that makes a pasta dish
        truly delectable and memorable.

Nonetheless, I finished this frozen meal feeling mildly satisfied. It was by no means tasteless, but also, not tasty enough for me to want to buy it again. It, along with the stuff I added to the meal, filled me up, and it was easy to fix with the microwave and all, so overall, I feel a “4″ rating is fair. The sauce needed to be thickened somewhat and injected with flavoring and the pieces of meat needed to be more plentiful. Again though, for a dollar, my expectations may have been set too high. That doesn’t mean though there isn’t room for improvement, even if it’s a minor one!
