Unfortunately, there’s no difference in taste when it comes to the spaghetti sauce used for Michelina’s Spaghetti Marinara and Michelina’s Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. In the cases of both frozen pasta meals, the spaghetti sauce is lacking in flavor.

It just doesn’t stand out in any meaningful or significant way and I have to wonder what kind and how much, if any, seasonings and herbs were added to the sauce when these frozen meals were being prepared.

alone doesn’t have hardly any flavor.

What gives a pasta dish flavor is the spaghetti sauce, and, if added, grated cheese.

The spaghetti sauce is where the flavor resides and helps to make a pasta dish one that can be looked forward to come dinner.

When the spaghetti sauce is bland, like in the case of both the marinara and meat sauce pasta meals from Michelina’s, the entire meal becomes somewhat unsatisfying and disappointing.

      I also feel that ...

      • the spaghetti sauce could have been thicker and not as watery as it was.

As for the spaghetti, that portion of the meal was fine.

It came out from the microwave with a tender texture and the spaghetti itself wasn’t the thin kind or real stringy kind.

There was a decent amount of spaghetti in the package, although there wasn’t enough there to completely fill me up.

For a dollar though, I think there was a decent amount of

Had the spaghetti sauce been thicker and richer in flavor, I may have purchased this frozen meal on occasion.

As it stands now though, the disappointing spaghetti sauce prevents me from craving another one of these frozen spaghetti meals, and so, I feel a “3″ rating is appropriate considering the lackluster quality of the spaghetti sauce, and the sauce is the main source of flavor after all, so it really negatively impacted my enjoyment of this spaghetti meal.
