  • Sokka should be the one who will lighten up the group by his weird jokes, his funny lines and the one acting as a leader for he is the oldest but in the movie, he is a mature, serious man who is always following Aang

The Last Airbender, is currently the latest movie being shown. This movie was inspired from the Nickelodeon’s high hit series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. The series was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, I’ve been watching that series for a long time and so I felt excited when I heard that they made it in a movie.

It was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan who is also the Director of the movie Sixth Sense in 1999.

The main character Aang which was played by Noah Ringer; who is the Avatar, master of the four elements…Air, Water,Earth and Fire. One hundred

years ago, after learning that he is the Avatar, Aang who is a twelve year old monk run away fearing of his heavy responsibity and his impending separation with his beloved Mentor Monk Gyatso.

Aang with his flying bison frend Appa flee and was caught up in a storm and crashed into the ocean. Aang’s protective Avatar state kept him frozen for 100 years until he was discovered by the Waterbender girl named Katara portrayed by Nicola Peltz and her brother Sokka ( Jackson Rathbone).

After waking up, he discovered that the world was changed and people needed him to defeat Fire Lord Ozai ...

      • ( Cliff Curtis) who plots a world dominatio; but first he has to escape his pursuer Prince Zuko (Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire-2008) the exiled son of Fire Lord Ozai, who can only return to his father and reclaim his lost honor if he captures the Avatar. The storyline is good and the special effects in this movie is superb.

It will really take you to a rollercoaster world of Avatar were there are flying bisons and elemental benders but the acting was somewhat disappointing. Noah’s character is somewhat different from Aang in the cartoon series.

Aang even with all the pressures and threats is still

a joyful monk who likes to play tricks on people but in the movie Aang is a bit serious. Sokka’s character in the movie is also very different from the cartoon series.

Sokka should be the one who will lighten up the group by his weird jokes, his funny lines and the one acting as a leader for he is the oldest but in the movie, he is a mature, serious man who is always following Aang. To sum up with, It is a good movie but somewhat disappointing for those who had watch its anime version in Nickelodeon.

This movie is for all ages and for the whole family.
