Besides their other huge album Cherry pie. The 80’s Glam Rock band Warrant also achieved alot of success with the Album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. This album had huge power Ballad hits like Sometimes She Cries and Heaven that mostly had a big following with the younger women. It also had hits radio friendly hits like Big Talk and Down Boys as well. Here is my Overall Review of the album.

Originality:9/10 Alot of the song have alot of creatic melodic guitar ideas and big back up vocals as well as

a couple pretty well known Ballads that were very huge and helped the band alot. The songs are all really original and only a couple songs are boring like In The Sticks which is more of a filler on the Album.

Composition:9/10 I like the really high end guitar and there’s alot of great melodic solos as well as alot of harmony with the back up vocals. Jani Lane’s voice is really soft and distinct in the 80s glam genre but I’ve never been a fan of his live singing, only in ...

      • the studio. I like alot of the phaser effects for some parts and this album. I like how alot of the riffs aren’t just powere chords and real riffs that are catchy and make for a great 80’s album.

Sound:8/10 The sound of Warrant for this album is the typical party sound you can expect with a party record with alot of guitar and really rough typical 80’s singing. The rhythm section is pretty basic when it comes to drums but the sound to this album spawned alot of mainstream hits because

it was the simple catchy songs but they still have melodic sounding guitar licks and riffs.

Lyrics:8/10 Most of the lyrics the make up this album are materialism in the self titled song D.R.S.F.R,32 pennies, sex in the Down boys,So Damn Pretty, and loneliness in the power Ballad Heaven. Most of the lyrics have that typical party feel to them and it has those lyrical moments when 80s bands do slow power songs. I like the song D.R.F.S.R because it had funny lyrics about money in it which makes up the humor in this album.
