  • It is so convenient to make, difficult to get wrong actually, and it tastes amazing
  • I enjoyed eating the whole serving of this risotto on its own, but the packet suggests serving it with chicken, ham or salmon which all sounds nice
  • I cannot particularly detect a leek flavour but I think this has a lovely asparagus flavour which tastes natural and lovely

This is another gorgeous risotto dish from Ainsley Harriott’s brand. It is so convenient to make, difficult to get wrong actually, and it tastes amazing. This is a dried risotto mix that you can make on the hob or even in the microwave and I made mine in the microwave. All I did was add 400ml of boiling water and 15g of butter and cooked it on full power

for 10 minutes, leaving it to stand for 5 minutes afterwards so the risotto turns nice and sticky. Actually, I do not have a measuring jug or weighing scales so I estimated the water and checked it frequently as it was cooking, adding a bit more boiling water when necessary. I also estimated the butter and just plopped a blob of butter in. But the point is, it still ...

      • ended up tasting gorgeous.

I enjoyed eating the whole serving of this risotto on its own, but the packet suggests serving it with chicken, ham or salmon which all sounds nice. The risotto comes out as a green colour with a sticky green sauce and with very tiny pieces of green vegetables (the asparagus and leek) strewn throughout. I cannot particularly detect a leek flavour but I think this has a

lovely asparagus flavour which tastes natural and lovely. One packet was just enough for me to have it on its own as one light meal, but if you served it with something else as an accompaniment you could get two servings out of it.

I had already tried the tomato risotto from Ainsley’s range and that was completely delicious too, so this is a great range from Ainsley and just so convenient to cook.
