  • Because off all the appeal i decided to give the first book a try and have to admit i thoroughly enjoyed it
  • The best aspect of the book is, in my opinion, the writing style that JK Rowling uses which whilst keeping the narrative simplistic enough conveys layers and layers of teenage and preadolescence insight
  • The plot is interesting enough for me and definitely has meat in it to expand over the course of the next six books
  • I love how there is a large plot spanning the whole series such as the fight between VOldermort and Harry, how Harry survived the curse, why Voldermort wanted to kill Harry's parents in the first place, his relationships with his friends, his abysmal dating life, his future career and the impending epic, magical war between good and evil which will change everything

I find it remarkable since it’s release thirteen years ago, the first Harry Potter novel has managed to sell over 975 million copies worldwide and has been translated into many languages. Because off all the appeal i decided to give the first book a try and have to admit i thoroughly enjoyed it.

The best aspect of the book is, in my opinion, the writing style that JK Rowling uses which whilst keeping the narrative simplistic enough conveys layers and layers of teenage and preadolescence insight. The plot is also well woven through complex innuendos and explanations

along with the central mystery about the Philosopher’s Stone being unclear to the reader until the final chapters.

The plot is interesting enough for me and definitely has “meat” in it to expand over the course of the next six books. Basically, the book tells the story of a young boy named Harry Potter who on his first birthday was turned orphan due to a evil and powerful dark wizard called Lord Voldermort attempting to murder his whole family. Whilst Voldermort succeeds in killing Harry’s parents his killing curse somehow rebounds when he tries to kill Harry ...

      • leaving him in a ghostly, incorporeal form. Harry survives with only a lightning bolt shape scar and is sent to live with his dreadful aunt and uncle who hate the magical world and ruin his life for the next ten years. However, once he turns eleven he receives a letter from Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry requesting his enrollment. There he meets his friends like Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom etc. who help him in his fight against Voldermort over the next six years.

I love how there is a large plot spanning the whole

series such as the fight between VOldermort and Harry, how Harry survived the curse, why Voldermort wanted to kill Harry’s parents in the first place, his relationships with his friends, his abysmal dating life, his future career and the impending epic, magical war between good and evil which will change everything.

Another interesting thing was that there is a massive fan base for the series, movies and merchandise so i have definitely made a few acquaintances because of diving into such a rich and well throughout world by a first rate author.

I give it 4 out of five stars
