I am reviewing the small town Riviera movie theater, specifically located in Emmetsburg, Iowa. For years, this movie theater was supremely outdated, run down, and unattractive. Recently, it got a huge makeover.

The sound system has been updated so movie goers can officially hear base. In regards to the dialogue parts of movies, however, people still cannot hear efficiently.

The most important scenes of movies are practically impossible to hear. The screen is clean, tear free, and

large, but the seating still leaves something to be desired.

Half of the seats are broken. On the major plus side, this movie theater shows brand new movies, which is something it could never afford to do before.

The prices are also very reasonable for a small town. The huge problem still remains, however, with the sound quality.

I still have to travel out of town to see a brand new movie, because I can’t hear the ...

      • dialogue at this theater. The inside of the theater went from bland and dreary to exciting, unique, and interesting.

There are vibrant, vivacious colors to be found on the walls now, in addition to unique wall art, making the theater very cozy and warm. The concession stand still has outrageous prices, but this is the only way the theater can afford to stay open.

By the time they pay rent, pay the outrageous fee for getting new

movies, and pay wages, electricity, etc. , they break even, so they have to make some sort of profit! The staff is friendly enough, and always show professionalism in their job.

I would highly recommend this theater to anyone if only the sound system was adequate. Perhaps if a moviegoer is willing to sit in the very front row to be able to hear, then I suppose this theater would be okay.

        Serious moviegoers should go elsewhere.
