Lion Brand Homespun yarn, to me, is a great yarn. It has its quirks but it is a beautiful and great yarn. Homespun yarn is a naturally wavy style yarn and a bulky weight yarn.

It is great because it works up fast due to its bulky nature and it works up even more super fast with a big hook. I have used it to make afghans, shrugs, and sweaters. It always works

up beautifully. The afghans and sweaters turn out thick and warm, even when they are made with double crochet and it creates holes. It is still warm. Well, maybe not in freezing temps but basic cold temperatures.

The yarns flaws are that it frays out when it is cut. It stays together in a completed project but the ends will fray out when cut. It ends up looking frizzy. Another flaw is it ...

      • is hard to see the stitches. Well, not exactly a flaw but a con. The waves of the yarn often look like stitches.

A plus is its wavy texture/look makes it easy to hide flaw or any mistakes you might make. The color selection is beautiful and the colors are stunning. The yarn itself, I feel, is unique. It works for knitting or crocheting. A skein retains for about $5.99. I say look

for it on sale though. Joann’s craft store often has it on sale. Stock up when they do cause you never know when it will come again.

I really like this yarn and plan for many more project ahead using it. The afghans work of thick and warm while sweater work up soft and fuzzy. If you love to knit or crochet I say give it a try. You might be impressed with it.
