From 1956, Eve Arden takes the part that she played successfully for four years on television, high school English teacher Constance ‘Connie’ Brooks, and puts her on the big screen. What is confusing to some, though, is that instead of moving forward with the story, this movie actually backs up, returning to Connie’s arrival in

      familiar with the characters.

The second thing is that the ‘kids’ don’t look like kids. Of course, I suppose we can’t blame the powers that be for doing this. After, years later we had Olivia Newton-John as a high school girl when she was way, way beyond that in real life. There’s a bit

Overall, this is a nice film. It’s 50’s fun with words of dedication and honor, back when being a teacher really meant something. The acting is good, the humor is real, and it makes for good entertainment for those who like to venture back to yesteryear.
