Ozone Falls is an area of free falling water into an amphitheater type of setting. To get to Ozone Falls from I40 you take exit 329 at Crab Orchard and drive four and a half miles on highway 70 to the parking area on the right.

      There is

a sign there with the history of the area and a path thatleads a few hundred yards off the road to the top of the falls.

Watch not to get to close, several people have died falling over the top or trying to dive in.

      From there the path ...

      • continues on down a half a mile or less to the base of the falls.

It is rocky and steep so be careful not to twist your ankle.

Many of the locals swim in the pool that is formed at the bottom of the falls.

        It’s a bit to

rocky and rough for my taste as far as swimming goes.

There are no sandy beaches here but you can walk up under the falls and sit or gaze as the water falls from over head.

It is a cool and relaxing place to hang out on hot summer day.
