Lady Gaga’s breakthrough album The Fame has been a massive success worldwide: the album as a whole when released was, and still is huge in every country around the world, cementing her status as a worldwide icon. The singles Just Dance and Poker Face were the first to be released from the album and broke download records, Poker Face being the #1 most downloaded song EVER in the UK. Lady Gaga was instantly loved by the UK due to her immensely catchy pop music and
her quirky sense of style. She also released LoveGame, Paparazzi as singles and the less known Beautiful Dirty Rich and Eh Eh (Nothing else I can say), which are also hugely popular.
The video for Paparazzi was widely acclaimed, being a mini-film and starting her trend for long movie-like music videos being 7 minutes long in total, twice as long as most music videos around at the time.
However, many people are now following in her footsteps now with regards to this, having interludes in their videos and telling
stories with them, as opposed to merely singing into the camera.
