  • The installation was not really a problem, because the complete package comes with everything to enable you install it without any hustles, at least in our case
  • I played a bit with the fantastic but complicated (for a beginner like me) equalizer system, and what I found out was that using the same configuration for different things like music, DVD s was not a good idea
  • Overall, I really didn't expect such sound quality and features (there are some I still haven't used) for such a low cost
  • Yes, I am satisfied and definitely recommend this to everyone

I never owned a home theater system before, and decided to give it a shot as I had the right occasion to buy it. It was the Football World Cup, and my husband is a huge football lover. I really never thought about owning a home theater until I saw one in my sister’s house.

The first thing that instantly attracted us to the Sony DAV-DX150 home theater system was its price. The price was mid-ranged, had pretty nice specs, and was from Sony, the same company I own a HDTV from; so I was game. The installation was not

really a problem, because the complete package comes with everything to enable you install it without any hustles, at least in our case. Clear instructions are provided along with additional color coding for the wire connections of the speakers. The speaker wires we used were normal ones, but there was no interference, and especially the bass was really nice. The one thing I am not really sure about is why the sound level sometimes falls even without any reduction in the volume. Maybe that’s my DVD player’s or TV’s problem, I really don’t understand, but there is no noticeable distortion ...

      • even at pretty high volume, which is kind of cool.

I played a bit with the fantastic but complicated (for a beginner like me) equalizer system, and what I found out was that using the same configuration for different things like music, DVD s was not a good idea. But to be honest, it was not that hard. If I can do it, anybody can. The sound then turned out to be really pronounced. The Sony DAV-DX150 comes with a 5 disc changer, which saves me a lot of headache of always getting up and changing the DVD s. Even the

speakers can be put on a pedestal, to be bought separately, which I didn’t buy.

But the coolest feature of this product has to be its ability to remember perhaps every DVD ever played on it. I was pleasantly surprised one day when I inserted a movie DVD of ‘The Aviator’, and it started to play from the point I last stopped it, at least a couple of weeks ago. Overall, I really didn’t expect such sound quality and features (there are some I still haven’t used) for such a low cost. Yes, I am satisfied and definitely recommend this to everyone.
