  • The title and the elegant woman was an attraction, and I bought the book for $11, still an average price for a book of this kind
  • Starker calls the affair off, not that he's not uninterested in Rosalie and he finds her ugly and boring, but because he knows this can't go on forever and he advies Rosalie to find a decent boyfriend, and they start their life all over again, or that's just with Mr
  • This book is quite simple and the vocabulary used is ample enough for adults to learn new words too, the plot is set in elegant Manhattan, New York and I think a lot of women had read this book as they were attracted by the cover, but all in all I didn't really feel anything special about the book, it was just a normal affair that any indecent girl could have and I did not like the scenes here where the stage play was being narrated, it was so weird and their conversations weren't really decent enough for me
  • All in all I would rate this a 6, I didn't really enjoy it, I enjoyed looking at the cover more and reading the back summary at the back before I read the whole novel and I'm just quite disappointed that the cover was even prettier and more interesting than the story itself

The print on this book caught my eye on the book stand at our bookstore, it featured a woman in an elegant eggplant cocktail dress sitting on couch, her legs were spread evenly and casually and you can’t really see her face as it’s only half-shown, but I could tell she must be gorgeous, and the words Midnight in Manhattan were printed in fine white lettering on the bottom part of the book. The book is all about a woman named Rosalie Preston, she’s an advice columnist for

a fashion magazine and a stage actress as well, she juggles both jobs and tries her best to be in plays along with her best friend, Bella Starker. When she meets Bella’s father at a restaurant one day, they have a strange and weird connection and they have an affair that night, Mr. Starker doesn’t really care about Rosalie, he’s married and really old and just wants some escape from all the stress of his business, and Rosalie isn’t really in love with him, or so she thought, but she’s now trying to juggle two jobs while being a Manhattan mistress as well, which is hard because she tries her best not to ...

      • get caught by her best friend Bella or else all hell will break loose! In the end, Mr. Starker calls the affair off, not that he’s not uninterested in Rosalie and he finds her ugly and boring, but because he knows this can’t go on forever and he advies Rosalie to find a decent boyfriend, and they start their life all over again, or that’s just with Mr. Starker - Rosalie just gets on feeling used and dejected.
