Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is a computer game where you simulate being the owner manager of an amusement park. As manager you have total control over research and development of new rides, advertising, purchasing and placing new ride attractions and food booths. You set the prices for gate admission, attraction prices and food or souvenirs.

I like the fact that you can decide on the color of umbrella’s you sell in the park besides the price of

it and location. You have to create paths to the rides.

You can edit the terrain to place rides, create water features such as fountains, lakes and waterfalls. You can plant trees and flowers to create some unique gardens with different themes.

Some of the rides you install are already designed but then you have the option to design some of your own, especially roller coasters. My son likes to create a path to get people on a bridge and then delete the exits to it, so the people end up falling in the lake and drown.

You can click on the little people and see how much money they have, how much they have spent and what they think. As park manager you are ultimately in charge of the finances of the park.

You have the power to borrow money from the bank to expand the park but don’t forget you have ...

to pay it back. You have a balance sheet that you must pay attention to ensure you don’t go bankrupt.

There are several different scenario’s for this game that you choose from when you decide that ultimately gives you the main goal of the game. Some want you to have a certain park rating and amount of money while others want something else.

This game gives you a great of overview of how hard it is to

manage a business and all the different responsibilities it entails. I think it is a great game.

You can just play to practice designing rides or you can play to learn to manage everything. In the end it is what you make of it.

I have not seen very many games that are as complex or detailed as this game but it’s allot of fun for the whole family. This game is produced by Atari.

You can buy it at Walmart.
